Apply for Help to Buy: Equity Loan

Before you get started, make sure you have the funds to pay for:

  • a reservation fee to reserve your home (up to £500)
  • a 5% deposit on exchange of contracts (if you have a larger deposit, pay the rest on completion)
  • the rest of your deposit, as well as other fees (stamp duty, legal fees, mortgage fees), at completion.

Check that the equity loan meets your needs and that you can afford to repay it.

To apply for Help to Buy: Equity Loan you will need to complete and sign a Property Information Form.

This confirms the property details, important dates, and agreement that the equity loan funds are paid directly to the homebuilder.

You can complete a Property Information Form online.

Apply for shared ownership

If you are interested in applying for shared ownership, you must first register with a Help to Buy agent. We can then see if you are eligible to apply and support you with the application process.

You will need to register with us before you can make a shared ownership application online.
