Having found out that the scheme would be an option for them, the couple used Help to Buy to purchase a two-bedroom coach house at the Hopkins Homes Butterfield Meadow development in Hunstanton.
Deene said: “Myself and Louise both work for DHL in Wisbech; we also have a busy two year old so we wanted to live in an area that has lots to do to entertain our son as well as not being too far from where we work. The Butterfield Meadow development seemed perfect, being within easy reach of the town and just a short walk from the beach and woodlands.
“We weren’t sure if a new build was going to be an affordable option for us, but we decided to visit the development and have a look at the homes anyway. We fell in love with a two-bedroom coach house. We loved the layout, the space, the garden, the huge garage and even the fixtures and fittings that had been selected.”
The couple spoke to the Hopkins Homes sales consultant to discuss their eligibility for the government’s Help to Buy scheme. Deene said: “We were pleasantly surprised to find that we qualified for Help to Buy and would only need a 5% deposit which made the house much more affordable for us.
“We were so excited we went back the following day to reserve the property as we couldn’t wait any longer!
“I still can’t believe the mortgage payments are over £100 less than we were paying in rent each month, it’s great. We love our new home and are really enjoying getting to know our new neighbours and community.”
Richard Sigger, sales consultant at Hopkins Homes, said: “We were delighted to be able to help Deene and Louise find the perfect home for their family. Buying a house is such a big moment in people’s lives so we like the process to be as smooth and simple as possible and are glad Deene and Louise are happy in their new home in Hunstanton.”
